Both SX and DX Roverdrives have five working
gear wheels. We manufacture four of these gears ourselves
but the largest (internal) gear is a gear common to
the General Motors Turbo 400 Automatic transmission.
This gear is very lightly stressed and is not subject
to any measurable wear in a well-maintained automatic
transmission.
We purchase these gears from one of the largest suppliers
of recycled automatic transmission parts in North America
and they are supplied ‘as new’ and fully
inspected. We do additional machining and inspection
on these components prior to assembly in our own factory
to ISO 9002 requirements.
