OUR LAND ROVERS
The owners of ROVERDRIVE GEAR all own Land Rovers and have enjoyed testing the ROVERDRIVE on overland expeditions in several countries.
Over the past five years we have covered some impressive distances in our Land Rovers. These journeys have proven the durability of the ROVERDRIVE and have given us the opportunity to meet customers in many countries.
The fuel savings alone make a ROVERDRIVE essential equipment on any extended overland journey.
Following are a few of our stories.
BEAN
Purchased in the UK in 2003, this 1968 2A '88' travelled to shows all over Europe demonstrating the SX ROVERDRIVE, getting as far north as Sweden and south to Spain in the process.
Bean immigrated to North America in 2006 and now lives a fairly sheltered life in West Vancouver, B.C. Canada

OZCAR
Ozcar is owned and driven by our good friends, Chris & Jenn, and has accompanied us on many travels. Originally registered in the UK in 1986, Ozcar was fitted out in Canada with a new 300TD engine and a Marsland chassis.
An original DX ROVERDRIVE was installed in Ozcar in 2004 and has done over 50,000 km on expeditions to Alaska, Australia, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya. Ozcar is now stored in Europe waiting for his next adventure, probably in North Africa.

RUDY
Rudy is a 1995 LHD TDI powered Discovery, purchased in 2003, and used as a trial vehicle for the DX model ROVERDRIVE, and as a lead vehicle on our expedition to Alaska.
He also did two expeditions across Australia, through the Simpson Desert, and getting as far as the Canning Stock Route and remote Walcott inlet.
Rudy has since returned to Canada.

LILY
Lily is a rare NADA 110. Number 1 of a collector’s series of 25 sold in Canada in 1994, with just about every option imaginable.
Originally a V8, Lily is now fitted with an international 2.8 diesel and is used as everyday transportation in Canada. Lily can sometimes be seen at Land Rover shows in the U.S.A. She was the test vehicle for the second generation DX ROVERDRIVES with the ‘thru the boot’ shift mechanism and is currently evaluating our Overdrive/Underdrive device.

MATILDA
Matilda is a 1986 Australian built 110 with the coveted Isuzu MD11B diesel engine. Acquired four years ago with 300,000 km on the clock, and a damaged rear tub, we fitted her out in Canada with a complete expedition rear body.
Matilda spent the past three years in Africa, completing her third African expedition in April 2009, travelling the wilds with Ozcar (above) from Cape Town to Mombasa. Matilda is the test bed for a yet unreleased overdrive to fit the LT95 four speed gearbox. She is currently hibernating in the Cotswolds U.K.

THE TANK
Philip Goodall has been separated from his IIA 109 Land Rover for a couple of years now. The pictures are from wilderness Safaris in Botswana and Zimbabwe.
Philip reckons a ROVERDRIVE would have done wonders for the 5 km/litre fuel consumption recorded from his six cylinder 2.6L engine.
